School Bus Routes

Waikowhai Intermediate is well served by three bus services.

1. From Mangere Bridge: Kiwi Coach Charters Ltd operates a daily service between Mangere Bridge and Waikowhai Intermediate School.
2. The Metrolink bus company operates 009 services which serve the school from both a westerly and easterly direction.

From New Lynn in the west the service originates from the New Lynn Transport Centre and travels via Portage Rd, Bolton St, Donovan St, White Swan Rd and Richardson Rd, stopping directly outside
the school. This is a public bus service in the morning. In the afternoon Urban Express operates a
special service of this route especially for Waikowhai Intermediate School students.

This service commences outside the school and retraces the route as listed above.

From Onehunga in the east the public bus 009 service commences at the Onehunga Transport Centre and travels via Beachcroft Ave, Herd Rd, Oakdale Rd and Staveley Ave to Richardson Rd. The return service
is repeated after school. The public bus stop is immediately outside the front of the school grounds.

3. From Lynfield the Metrolink service connects directly with Waikowhai Intermediate School. This service
commences in the morning at The Avenue and then completes a loop of Lynfield via Halsey Drive and Canberra Ave to emerge on to Hillsborough Rd and travel directly to Waikowhai Intermediate School, via Dominion Rd Extension. This journey repeated in reverse after school.
