At Waikowhai Intermediate, we have Kapa haka every week to practice waiata, moteatea and haka. Kapa haka is the term for Māori performing arts and literally means to form a line (kapa) and dance (haka). At Waikowhai Intermediate we are able to provide our students the opportunity and experience to learn Maori language and culture through waiata and performance. Students will be able to showcase their ability to enjoy the movements, sights and sounds of learning a culture. “Kia kōrero te katoa o te tinana” - Henare Teowai. “The whole body should speak!”
