A Brief Waikowhai History

Waikowhai Intermediate School began its life in 1965, by housing the first students of the North Shore Teachers’ Training College, while facilities were built to house those students on a site in Northcote.

The school received its first students in 1967; the school was officially opened in March of that year by the Hon. A.E. Kinsella, Minister of Education. The school began with 94 students in four year 7 classes.
