Languages at Wai

 

We offer a range of languages, taught in various ways, to enrich our students’ knowledge base. Language learning is an important part of our curriculum and opens up a new world to the emerging adolescent.

  • Te Reo Maori is taught across the school with various cultural and language activities including learning waiata at music assemblies, taking part in powhiri and the Te Kupu o te Rā or Word of the Day initiative.
     

  • Japanese or Mandarin Chinese are taught by our Languages teacher as a specialist subject to Year 7 students.
