Enrolment Process

Waikōwhai Intermediate now offers electronic enrolments.  To access the electronic enrolment form:

• Fill in the form

• Submit

 Any further enrolments for 2025, please contact the school office.  

Enrolments for 2026 will open in Term 2.

Once you have submitted your enrolment form, with all the relevant supporting documents, we will respond with an acknowledgement email.  If you need any assistance please feel free to contact the school office on 621 0460 or email reception@wai-int.school.nz

For those unable to complete an electronic enrolment, you can still access a hard copy of the enrolment form by clicking on the highlighted link above.  This can be scanned and emailed to reception@wai-int.school.nz.  Alternatively, you can pop into the school office during school hours and collect or drop off a hard copy.

Out of Zone enrolments close on Wednesday 27th August.  A Ballot will take place on Wednesday 3rd September. For all In-Zone enrolments please submit your application by Friday 19th September.

Supporting documentation required:

​

• Eligibility criteria – this can be a New Zealand Birth Certificate, New Zealand Passport, Australian Passport, NZ Citizenship Certificate, Resident Visa or a Student Visa

•  NZ born student – Birth Certificate or NZ passport

• NZ Citizen – New Zealand Passport or Citizenship Certificate, 

• Non-NZ Citizen – Student Visa, Permanent Resident Visa or Australian Passport

• Proof of Address – a utility bill/rental agreement, something that has your name and address on it.  In-zone applications only.

• Immunisation Forms – if your child is immunised, please provide a copy of his/her records.

Monday, 28th April - Enrolments open for 2026

Monday, 21st July 6.30pm - Open Evening for all prospective 2026 families

This is an opportunity for parents/caregivers to come along and get some information about Waikōwhai Intermediate, ask some questions and have a talk with senior leaders about our school.  Your children are also welcome to attend.

Wednesday, 23rd July 9.20am to 11.20am - Open Day for all prospective 2026 families

This time is for parents, caregivers and their children to come to Waikōwhai Intermediate and have a walk around with some of our students to see our school on a 'normal' day.  Please come any time before 11.20am.

Wednesday, 27th August -  Out of Zone Enrolments Close.

Please have your applications in before this date to be in the ballot.  If you miss the ballot, there may be a second ballot if spaces are still available.

Wednesday, 3rd September - Out of Zone Ballot

Within three school days after the ballot, families will be emailed an offer of place which they will have 14 days to accept, or families will be informed of the place they have on the waiting list.

Friday 19th September - In-Zone applications to be received
