Year 7 Camp - Term 4

The Year 7 Camp is more than just a trip—it’s an opportunity for our tamariki to build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and step outside their comfort zones while surrounded by the beauty of Aotearoa’s great outdoors.

For many years now, we have attended Finlay Park Adventure Camp in Cambridge and this year is no exception. Nestled in the bush along Lake Karapiro, the scenery itself is an experience! From adventure challenges and team-building activities to campfire competitions and outdoor exploration, this camp is packed with exciting opportunities that will create lifelong memories. With a strong focus on resilience, problem-solving, and whakawhanaungatanga (building relationships), our students will return home with new skills, stronger friendships, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Year 8 Surf Safety - Term 1

Aotearoa’s stunning beaches are a playground for adventure, but understanding surf safety is essential for keeping ourselves and others safe in the water. Our students are incredibly fortunate to learn these vital skills from the dedicated lifeguards at Muriwai Beach, who share their expertise in reading the waves, identifying rip currents, and practising safe swimming techniques.

Through these hands-on sessions, tamariki gain confidence in the ocean, learning how to stay between the flags, signal for help, and respect the power of the sea. These lessons not only help keep them safe but also foster a lifelong appreciation for our ocean and the people who protect it.

Year 8 Activity Week - Term 4

Year 8 Activity Week is a fun-filled programme designed to challenge and engage our Year 8 students in a variety of exciting outdoor adventure activities at the end of the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and create lasting memories with their peers.

Activities include Tree Adventures at Woodhill, snowboarding / skiing at Snowplanet, and water rafting / kayaking at Wero.
